Why Support Medical Assistance?
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: Verily, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, would say on the Day of Resurrection: O son of Adam, I was sick but you did not visit Me. He would say: O my Lord; how could I visit Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? Thereupon He would say: Didn’t you know that such and such servant of Mine was sick but you did not visit him and were you not aware of this that if you had visited him, you would have found Me by him? O son of Adam, I asked food from you but you did not feed Me. He would say: My Lord, how could I feed Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? He said: Didn’t you know that such and such servant of Mine asked food from you but you did not feed him, and were you not aware that if you had fed him you would have found him by My side? (The Lord would again say:) O son of Adam, I asked drink from you but you did not provide Me. He would say: My Lord, how could I provide Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? Thereupon He would say: Such and such of servant of Mine asked you for a drink but you did not provide him, and had you provided him drink you would have found him near Me. [Sahih Muslim]
Jabir reported Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) as saying: There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. [Sahih Muslim]
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari: The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives.” [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) said, “There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment.” [Sahih Bukhari]
Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) said, “You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it.” [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated Abu Said: I testify that Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) said, “The taking of a bath on Friday is compulsory for every male Muslim who has attained the age of puberty and (also) the cleaning of his teeth with Siwak, and the using of perfume if it is available.” [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated Anas: Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) said, “I have told you repeatedly to (use) the Siwak.” (The Prophet put emphasis on the use of the Siwak.) [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated Hudhaifa : Whenever the Prophet (pbuh) got up for Tahajjud prayer he used to clean his mouth (and teeth) with Siwak. [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated Usamah ibn Sharik: I came to the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions were sitting as if they had birds on their heads. I saluted and sat down. The desert Arabs then came from here and there. They asked: Apostle of Allah, should we make use of medical treatment? He replied: Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age. [Sunan Abu-Dawud]
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) prohibited unclean medicine. [Sunan Abu-Dawud]
